8 Directions WWE Champion Seth Rollins Can Go From Here

WrestleMania 31’s ending was nothing short of fantastic. The decision to have Seth Rollins swoop into the main event and nab the WWE Championship was a masterstroke, successfully elevating everybody involved. Rollins himself obviously finds his stock higher than ever, while Brock looked like an absolute monster in the early stages of the match, and Reigns came across as the brave babyface the WWE are so desperate to push him as.

Interestingly, it also opens various previously unconsidered paths for future storylines. A whole host of superstars how have legitimate gripes with the new champ; Lesnar lost his title without being pinned and is surely set for a rematch at some stage, while Reigns was in the midst of a huge comeback when Rollins dashed down the ramp. Seth’s potential future feuds aren’t limited to the two main-eventers however. His previous storylines allow for a variety of different match-ups sure to keep the fans on their toes for the foreseeable future.
If anything is to be learned from this, its that WrestleMania 31 was a huge make-or-break event in terms of momentum at the top of the card. Had the show ended predictably with Reigns standing tall, fans would have resented his hand-picked push as the new face of the company even more, and the stagnation beginning to set in over the past year or so would have been set to continue. Now, however, the company can enter a new, refreshing period with Rollins at the helm.
