10. Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan has had a lot of criticism for his ring performances. But part of his limitation in the ring was down to chronic injuries, especially with his back, hips and knees.
A lot of that was caused by years of doing the legdrop. He’d jump up and drop his 280 pound weight on to his bum, which over time caused deterioration. Another issue was how much muscle he was carrying, which in the long term wasn’t good for his bodily frame. Then there’s all the giants he slammed over the years and bumps he’d take to his back, all contributing factors in his chronic conditions.

Even by the late eighties, he was having to work through pain. But especially in WCW, he was under tremendous pain in his joints and back. Then when he came to WWE in the early to mid 2000’s, there was so much he couldn’t do due to chronic injuries in his body. If you watch his matches with the likes of Triple H or Kurt Angle, you can actively see them working around Hogan’s problems.
By the time of the Hogan Vs Michaels match in 2005, it was painfully obvious that the Hulkster was crocked. There were moves he wasn’t doing and other moves that just looked laboured. He probably should have been retired in the mid nineties, but as such a huge star, the money always kept him going.
