10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Bella Twins
7. Their WrestleMania 29 Match Was Cancelled
The Bellas were out of WWE for about a year for most of 2012. They needed a break while also trying to make it in Hollywood, but that didn’t really work for them. When they came back in March 2013 they were put in a storyline with the Funkadactyls (Naomi & Cameron). This was when Total Divas was starting up too, so it was perfect timing.
A match was announced for WrestleMania with the Bella Twins teaming up with Cody Rhodes & Damien Sandow (Team Rhodes Scholars) vs. Naomi, Cameron, Brodus Clay and Tensai. As most people know, WrestleMania is a four hour broadcast with a pre-show. If they really wanted to get the match on the broadcast they would have done it, but WWE decided to scrap it.
There are some people that thought maybe they weren’t ever going to do the match in the first place and it was all done as angle they could use on Total Divas. While WWE isn’t going to come out to say that is true, it’s certainly possible.
The match was done the next night on Raw although that’s far less memorable than getting a chance to perform at a WrestleMania. At least they could complain about it on Total Divas. That seems to be a running theme on that show.
