WWE SmackDown Spoilers: Complete Results and Analysis for August 29

Monday night was not a good one for the Wyatt Family. They were manhandled, punished and pummeled by a motivated John Cena, with the help of Big Show and Mark Henry.

Friday night, they have the opportunity to gain a measure of revenge when Harper and Rowan meet Big Show and Henry in the latest in a string of matches between the two behemoth teams.
Speaking of the Wyatt Family, leader Bray Wyatt also has the chance to make up for his underwhelming showing on Raw when he meets Roman Reigns in singles action, as revealed during WWE Network's live broadcast of Main Event.
The two Superstars are incredibly familiar with one another, having competed against each other in singles and tag team contests throughout 2014.
Will Wyatt build a little momentum for himself Friday night or will Reigns steamroll his opponent, just as he has done on numerous occasions in recent months?

• Roman Reigns defeated Bray Wyatt via disqualification when Luke Harper and Erick Rowan interfered. Big Show and Mark Henry made the save.
• Seth Rollins defeated Rob Van Dam
• Paige defeated Emma. After the match, AJ Lee brought Paige chocolates. Paige spit one of the chocolates back at Emma. AJ picked it up and ate it.
• Rusev defeated Jack Swagger when Bo Dallas interfered. Dallas attacked Swagger after the match.
• Jey Uso defeated Stardust. After the match, Goldust and Stardust beat down The Usos.
• Sheamus defeated Damien Sandow, who was dressed as The Miz again. After the match, Miz ran from Sheamus until Dolph Ziggler threw him into the ring. Sheamus tried for the Brogue Kick but Miz ran away.
• Roman Reigns, Big Show and Mark Henry defeated The Wyatt Family

 

Who did the Wyatt Family anger?
That question is paramount given their recent booking and the fact that the act has fallen off significantly in the months after Bray Wyatt's storyline wrapped up with John Cena. Together he, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper have wallowed in the midcard.
Wyatt's work, in particular, has become incredibly mediocre, with no real rhyme or reason for any feuds occurring. His matches with Chris Jericho have been good but not great and his promos have become more formulaic than they were previously, quality taking a backseat to spectacle.
The continued booking of him and his followers as afterthoughts in a rapidly developing and changing WWE will cost the company one of its hottest, most interesting and compelling acts on the roster.
The remainder of Friday's broadcast looks like the typically solid show that SmackDown has become without really furthering any stories or doing newsworthy things that those not watching may want to tune in to see next week's show for.
It is backwards booking. Why WWE does not make the most of the television exposure it has is a question for another time. Until that question is answered, though, SmackDown will continue to be the show that delivers solid, if unspectacular, wrestling every Friday night.
