Another star that Del Rio didn’t get on with was Dave Batista. When The Animal returned in January 2014, he was scheduled to feud with the Mexican. That led to Batista posting some teasing tweets,“So I hear Alberto Del Rio is talking trash. Just one question… Who the hell is Alberto Del Rio?!!!”
Del Rio didn’t take this in jest, replying that he was the guy who had been winning world titles while Batista was getting beat up by a plumber in MMA. That did not go down well with The Animal. He retorted that Del Rio was a “C level star” and warned “Don’t turn a work into a shoot. #realitycheck”
The problem was, Batista’s comment was true. Del Rio was a C level star. It wasn’t smart to embarrass the Mexican like that, so there ended up being real heat over all of this.
