Seth Rollins was scheduled to face Roman Reigns at Night of Champions, but with Reigns missing in action due to hernia surgery, Rollins ended up calling out somebody from the back for an open challenge. Conveniently, Ambrose showed up in a taxi at exactly the right time (imagine that!) and he was there to confront Rollins.
For the second PPV in three months, they didn’t have a match. Instead, they brawled around the ringside area with Ambrose looking just fine after having his head put through cinderblocks five weeks ago. Those movie sets have amazing recovery powers! Anyway, the brawl drew a big reaction from the crowd because Ambrose wasn’t advertised for the event, so when he showed up the fans were excited to see him. He’s really connecting with the audience.
The whole thing ended when Triple H and Stephanie McMahon showed up to call out security to get Ambrose out of there. Ambrose ended up jumping on top of them to get to Rollins again. It was a very effective segment that will lead to some other huge match between them.
These two have the potential to have the best feud of the year if they can have another two or three big matches that are great.
