3. She Has Wrestled Former WWE Diva Kharma (Awesome Kong) Before

When WWE brought in Kharma in 2011, fans were excited. Since she didn’t look like the typical diva and was more of a pure wrestler that was a badass, there was a lot of anticipation about seeing her wrestle some of WWE’s more talented women. The two names that came to mind were Beth Phoenix and Natalya since they were the best in-ring performers among the divas at the time. It didn’t happen because Kharma’s WWE tenure was short, but Natalya has faced her before.

They had a few matches in Japan (with Kong using the Amazing Kong name), but one in particular surfaced online. It was from late 2005. They had a very physical, hard hitting match. It’s rare to watch a match with Nattie where she was the smaller wrestler, but against Kong she was definitely the underdog. They had a brawl that went into the crowd with Kong dominating most of it. When they got back into the ring, Nattie made the big comeback with an athletic facebuster. Kong nailed her with a spinning back fist. Then Natalya hit a release German Suplex for a two count. That was very impressive and so was the powerslam. Nattie even did a hurricanrana, which she doesn’t do in WWE. Kong ended up getting the win with a Powerbomb followed by a clothesline.

Their match in Japan only lasted about five minutes, but it was very physical for the time given. You could see Nattie doing moves that she never does in WWE probably because they won’t let her do it because it would be showing off. It would be awesome if they had another match in WWE considering how good they are now.
