When Emma started showing up in the crowd with #EMMAtaining signs at the beginning of the year, fans of NXT were excited for the debut of one of the best women’s wrestlers the WWE had seen in a long time. During her time in NXT, she had a series of show-stealing matches with Paige that had fans waiting for both women to debut and revitalise the Divas division. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite go that way.

Emma debuted as Girl Santino and for the first few weeks she was strictly his valet. When she did get a chance to wrestle, it was in comedy mixed-tag matches against Fandango and Summer Rae, and she was given her own pink Cobra. Everything about her character screamed “Don’t bother investing in her”

Things got worse when Emma was released and rehired due to a mix-up over an iPad case. Now, with the year drawing to a close, Emma is in desperate need for rehabilitation. They should look back to NXT and instead of seeing what worked (the goofy dancing), see WHY it worked. Let Emma go at it with AJ with some serious stakes involved, and she’ll blow you away.
