8. DON’T Have Her Drop The NXT Women’s Title

First impressions are everything. For example, do you know that 87% of adult human beings whom meet for the first time, will know within 5 seconds (and with not a word spoken) whether they like each other or not? Sound far-fetched? Well, the sociologists say it’s true. I’m going to assume the know more about these things than I do.

Right now the impression that Paige will have left upon the core WWE audience- the majority of which will have had no single clue whom she was before last Monday- is that of a mysterious young woman whom did in seconds what every other Diva couldn’t do in months- and that’s beat AJ Lee for the gold (or silver). That says she’s better than them… so now, she must be.

Next week, WWE will tape the next month’s worth of NXT tapings and there is a fair chance they will have Paige drop her NXT Women’s Title without another mention of it on WWE TV. I think this is a mistake. I believe she should remain champion and carry both belts around for a month or so.

This accomplishes 3 things: a) it draws an immediate parallel to the WWE World Heavyweight Title, which suggests big things; b) it helps to co-promote NXT, which WWE should want to do for the WWE Network’s sake and c) it fulfils, in image, the idea that she now must follow: that this girl is something different and special.

It’s the only way this will work.
