When Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte debuted on NXT she just wasn’t very good. She was an unconvincing good guy alongside Bayley, and somehow also an unconvincing bad guy when she allied with Summer Rae and Sasha Banks as the Beautiful Fierce Females. In the ring, she didn’t quite know what to do with her tall frame, and the matches were just a bit too clumsy.

Then it all clicked. It’s hard to point out where, but at some point Charlotte got very good, very quickly. By the time she was wrestling Natalya for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship she was owning the ring like a veteran, and the two of them had what many are calling the best women’s match of the year.

Charlotte is easily the most improved wrestler on the roster, regardless of gender or main roster/developmental split and that improvement deserves rewarding. She plays the too-cool-for-school popular girl so well, so black tee-wearing, Chuck Taylor-rocking AJ Lee is her natural enemy. Put the two together, and people will see why people have been raving about Charlotte and NXT’s women’s division for a while now.
