4. The Undertaker Is Actually VERY Religious

Of course many are aware of The Undertaker’s donation of a motorcycle to Austin, Texas’ Lake Hills Church in 2013. However, when looking even further back into the Undertaker’s youth in Houston, the religious roots that allow The Undertaker to resonate so deeply as a character become readily apparent.

As a child, The Undertaker attended the Baptist Temple church, which under pastor T.C. Jester (who was likely the pastor during ‘taker’s youth) the church expanded significantly, with all of its buildings being rebuilt or remodeled. Jester was also an influential member of Houston’s planning commission, an innovator who created legislation that spurred highway growth.

Being so spiritually based and growing up in such an important church with an important pastor may have actually given Mark Calaway all of the dramatic license he needed to allow The Undertaker to flourish.
