12 Things You Didn’t Know About WWE Champion Brock Lesnar
12. He Was Arrested For Illegally Possessing Steroids
The sheer size and strength of Lesnar has led many to think that the ‘Beast Incarnate’ has had some pharmaceutical help along the way.
In January 2001, Lesnar drew a lot of unwanted attention when he was arrested while training at WWE developmental camp Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville, Kentucky for allegedly possessing ‘a large amount’ of illegal anabolic steroids.
The (quite serious) felony charge was dismissed after four months when tests proved that the pills were not actually steroids after all but were, according to Lesnar’s defense attorney, ‘a vitamin type thing’. In actuality, it was legal growth hormone.
The whole episode was deemed to be a misunderstanding and officers were apologetic to Lesnar after his name was cleared. Lesnar has vehemently denied taking the muscle-enhancing drugs and Kurt Angle backed up his co-worker in a 2003 radio interview. Lesnar has never tested positive for steroids and has been tested many times during his life.
