3. He Was Suspended For Rolling A Marijuana Joint Backstage

Story: Orton was suspended in April of 2006 for 60 days due to unprofessional conduct. This was right after he dropped the World Title to Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 22. While WWE never revealed the specifics of what the unprofessional conduct was, the story going around at the time was that Orton was seen rolling a marijuana joint backstage at a Smackdown taping.

Apparently, somebody backstage snitched about Orton openly using marijuana backstage at a show and it led to former WWE official Bruce Prichard telling management. This wasn’t the only reason he was suspended because he had done other questionable things backstage, but doing something stupid like openly rolling marijuana is something that WWE felt the need to suspend him for.

Why People Believe It: He was legitimately suspended for two months at that time and WWE never offered up a legit reason for it other than saying unprofessional conduct. They probably don’t want to tell fans the specifics of it.

Should We Believe It: Yes. Sounds like a true story. It should be noted that using marijuana is not something that WWE suspends people over. They do fine people that use it repeatedly, but the fines aren’t a big dollar amount and for a guy that makes millions like Orton it’s probably not a big deal for him to pay those fines. No wonder he appears so calm all the time.
