3. The Kat Taking Off Her Top On PPV

If you mention the WWE Armageddon PPV from December 1999 the first thing that a lot of fans remember the most isn’t that Stephanie McMahon turned heel on her dad to align herself with Triple H in the main event. What they remember most is when The Kat won an Evening Gown Match and took off her bra to show her breasts to the world.

When she removed her bra it drew a big ovation of course. On commentary, Jerry Lawler was screaming about it because he was dating her and eventually married her although that wasn’t acknowledged on the show. It was one of those kinds of events that really got people talking.

There are a lot of opinions on this stunt by The Kat and whether it was a work or not. Those that think it was a work can point out that WWE official Sgt. Slaughter was right there with a towel to cover her up less than one second after she took off her bra. If she did without approval she likely would have been fired that same day. Instead, she was still a WWE employee for another year or so.

It was the first time WWE did intentional nudity on live PPV broadcast shown all over the world. There were complaints for it and they never did it again, but like they always say, nobody forgets the first time.
